Peoples lives become wrecked because everyone is so sensative these days.
Or maybe insenstive.... Did you want to start a new thread on that one?

Aaron Neely:
In todays society if you look at someone the wrong way people freak out. Unfortunatly there is no real definition of "sexual assault" its all an interpretation thing. Its unfortunate but true. My original post was giving the "suspect" the benefit of the doubt. Apparently I was wrong because it had been looked into and it was true. Peoples lives become wrecked because everyone is so sensative these days.

Aaron...I think you're treading on very very very thin ice.

This isn't about being sensitive...it's about a gross abuse of power.

Shark Byte, I recall reading in some earlier posts, perhaps in the other thread related to this topic, that the name of the perpetrator of the assault was kept off of SB by the mods until there was verification of the incident being reported to the police and PADI and until the name was publicly released elsewhere. So, I don't see how SB did anything wrong in that regard.

by the letter of the LAW we are innocent untill proven guilty, lol, so names and faces are(by law) not suppose to be reveled untill that of the accused is indeed a fact, and or found guilty, SUPPOSEDLY!!!!!!

Sorry to pick on you again mate but:

Sexual Assault = Conduct of a sexual or indecent nature toward another person that is accompanied by actual or threatened physical force or that induces fear, shame, or mental suffering.

Yep, I agree. But there's nothing we can do about it. BTW, probably should handle it with PMs instead of drifting the thread.

OK Bill. This sounds like the SC is becoming a Police State :)

I think you may want to review the law, Jim.
If this were the case then there would be no harm to anyone's reputation when facing an allegation.

I cannot quite understand exactly what you are saying from how you wrote it, but if you are trying to say that the name of an accused may not be released to the public until or unless the accused is found guilty in a court, then

I'm not aware of any law that says the the name of an adult accused may not be publicly revealed unless and until proven guilty in a court.

That is such an open door description. "sexual or indecent" ...who decides what is "indecent" or not? once again is an interpretation thing
