Goodness, this thread sure did attract a lot of spammers! Cave Diver, if you wanted to close the thread to prevent them from continuing to post, that's fine.

Best Buy won't look at anything without charging a fee of, I think, around $30.

I took it to a Canon service place locally, they said they don't do Canon housings, but they told me the camera is toast. I might call Reef Photo to see about housing service...

at the moment though, I'm Russian to finish some homework, and once again, camera repair goes on the back burner :)
