A diver has been seriously injured after suffering an incident at approximately 10:13 a.m. this Thursday while diving in Playa Chica, in Puerto del Carmen, as reported by the Coordinating Center for Emergencies (CECOES).

When they arrived at the scene, the healthcare personnel attended to the man on the sand itself, as he had suffered complications during a dive. Following this, he was transferred in serious condition to the José Molina Orosa Hospital in a SUC ambulance.

Two ambulances from the SUC, one basic life support and one advanced life support, arrived at the scene. Agents from the Tías Local Police and the Civil Guard also went to the area.

At least a recompression chamber is available.....:(
I was impressed that they sent two ambulances of different levels of care, basic if that's all that was needed, and one advanced life support, just in case.
