I can't add much to Claudette's report on Dive Matrix(found here.) But I did carve out one 10 minute slice of dive 4 here (the adventures of Tiny Turbo and the Flatworm Treadmill - posted here)
Here are some of the shots from yesterday on the Specter. Thank for another great day of diving. Lots of our buddies were high and dry. We rolled the dice and it paid huge.

Tiny Turbo Story here
A snap from the Clown Nudi Abs of Steel video. I was so intrigued by this guy I sent 'dette off to scooter with the Sealions while I spent 7 or 8 minutes watching and shooting this guy. I came over when I was done and wrote in my wetnotes to her: "its so cool when you stumble on a Nudi actually, you know, DOING SOMETHING...."
Peek-a-boo Moray. This guy was HUGE.
If its Anacapa - its FedEx land. Here's one laying eggs
Salvador Dali lives...
Tylo, pushes back his lid as he's chilling on a shelf in the supermarket - pondering which square inch of the acres of sponge on which he lives will be dinner tonight.
Wormie. So many colors these things come in... Love 'em.
..........................................................
And now - a trip to the Maternity Ward. It was baby city on Anacapa. More teeny Nudis and teeny critters than I can ever remember on one trip.
..........................................................
Baby McFarlands, seeking safety among the Urchin spines. This guy was maybe 1/4" long.
Baby 'Nax. He was about an inch long. He was cruisin' on the hydroids (those flower looking animals at his face.) They sting, so as his "lips" went across them, he would repulse and pull back. Poor guy...
Hare Baby - If I can get a sea hare in full frame with a 105 lens, you know the thing is TINY. This one was about 1.5" long (tip of finger to 2nd knuckle)
Clown Baby. Claudette came over to me with one bare hand... I'm all "what up, Michael?... hoo hoo, hee hee..." She didn't laugh. But she did open her hand and in it was the tiniest Clown Nudi I've ever seen. This guy was about 2/3 the size of a Jelly Belly bean. I put him on the shell to get a shot, as we were over fuzzy algae and he would have fallen through if we put him down on it.
After our flatworm adventure (link at top of report), I saw a brown sponge. They usually grow along the lateral sides rocks, but this one had a protrusion about the size of a thermos - sticking straight up. I went over to it and was going to poke it with a finger to be sure it was sponge - and when I looked down, there on the top of it I saw the smallest Hermissenda I've ever seen. I though it was part of the dust on the top. This thing was HALF the size of a rice kernel. I mean, look at those cerata (back furry things...) they're so small. His rhinophores (the horns in front) are twice the height of the cerata... like a St Bernard's feet - he needs to grow into them. If you know these animals, you appreciate how small this one is. His distorted features make him look like one of those "tiny toons" characters.... This was my favorite find of the day. He's just silly. .
