Any opinions?
  • Use one battery for heating and a separate battery for a canister light, or ...
  • Use one larger battery for both heating and a canister light
I expect to not use heated undergarments very often, so I'm leaning towards the first option.

Separate batteries. Me prefers to put heater battery canister into drysuit pocket (outside suit).
Reason - when you doff your rig in-water, you can still use heater.

Separate. Never compromise your light. Also+, you have a spare battery for your light in case of failure. I do not want any batteries in my drysuit so I carry them on my belt or on the back of my rebreather.

I have the same battery - tall UWLD. I run heat only on deco where I don't need light capabilities. Also, for most non-cave dives UWLD LD-40 provides more than enough light on low setting.

Same battery.

But will all depend on the specific dive needs. Are you planning a 6 hour dive in 36° water? Or just want a little comfort warmth on a 90 minute dive in 55° water?
