I read (on CNN, I think) that it will be lethal injection. But, come to think of it, a .45 to the cranium would likely be a lethal injection, wouldn't it?

i don't understand this guy.

he flipped a switch on a light tower (which indicates premeditation to me), then
walked along a row of tents throwing grenades inside, then picked off the
survivors as they exited the tent.

he wasn't exactly a model soldier to begin with (far from it; he did get in the 101st
through his efforts, but after a while nobody wanted him around). he said to
some other soldiers "you're all here to rape the women and kill the children."

he was described as an "odd duck." he wrote his mom "Mom, nobody likes me here."

i think his actions are made worse by the fact he was a soldier, and those were
his fellow soldiers he fragged.

i can't imagine what he was thinking or feeling. personally, i don't think the
guy is right in the head.

i'm not surprised he got the death penalty.

I'm an eye for an eye kinda guy.

I say let the surviving victims chose the method. Perhaps a return fragging or a variable dose of surprise blanket parties for the duration of the appeals process. Lets see how long the appeals process goes on then.

A firing squad or lethal injection is too good for this maggot.

Stupid questions:

- what is fragging?

- what happened (I've been pulled under-water at my work and haven't followed current events for some weeks)

yeah, originally... but then it became the word used no matter what the
method was (grenade or rifle or whatever)

H2Andy:
"fragging" means killing soldiers on your own side, usually officers.

fragging was a problem in VietNam. really hadn't happened since, until this incident.

here's a story in the LA Times:

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationw...ar29apr29,0,6369977.story?coll=la-home-nation

Oeffff.... I can't see the American military reacting understandably to a Muslim soldier losing it.....

A couple of thoughts go through my mind:

Panic at the thought of dying (who can't relate to that?)

Unstable individual

Who put this guy there and why was he alone?

Lucky that he lived long enough to be tried

If I were on the receiving end of that attack it would have ended with me drinking his blood. (in that sense I understand the verdict).

What could motivate someone to do something like that? It's being rationalized as hate but that's not explaining it in my mind.
