Sending dms

I was trying to send a dm and I can’t find anywhere to send private messages. I know I’ve sent them to users in the past, has this been moved or removed?

I can't send message to @Dave545 either.

In the privacy settings, there is a way to control who can send you DMs. I wonder if it is possible to send message to someone who can't send you an answer.

A guess:

The forum algorithms have been modified to deal with spammers so (among other things) a certain number of posts must be made before the DM function can be utilized and the Op no longer meets the updated criteria.

But why we can't send him a PM? He is blocked both ways.

My guess is that his account is unable to utilize the DM feature due to anti-spam measures.

It's probably a check box or whatever that an admin can set the level of posts at which the DM feature is activated and it's not a "it's ok to receive but not to send" sort of thing.

I'm going to make another guess and suggest that given your tenure the only limiting factor is your post count. Other forums that I am familiar with and some which I have moderated have set this number to around 30.
