leisure pro buys used scuba gear......if they might be interested in your item, they pay for UPS to pick it up from you (and in my case, which i have a BC to sell, it would be insured for $450), test it, etc., see if they are interested, and if so, make you an offer. if not, then they return it to you at their cost as well. has anyone done this, and did you get a fair offer, etc? and did everything go smoothly?

I have done it in person. The price wasn't nearly what i could get for the used gear on ebay or even here on SB. Ebay is your friend. I have sold JUNK on ebay as a joke just to see if it would sell. Everything sells on ebay. It's insane.

yeah... but it's like trading in a car or selling the car yourself.

most of the time you're going to get more money if you sell it yourself, but you've got to do it.... that and you might have to sell your old one before you get your new one.

LP or any other shop that buys dive gear isn't going to give you "top dollar" for your used gear. they set their used purchase price on bought items low so they can still sell them and make a profit. just a normal way of doing business.
