So I'm actually new on the forum but would like to sell my reg set-up. I did the get married and have kids thing and I no longer have time (or money) to dive (that and I need a new surfboard). I don't know if it's easier or if I'd get more cash by selling my reg, 1st. stage, secondary, computer and BCD & Dry suit lines seperate or all together. Here's the list of my stuff:

APEX ATX 100 primary and 1st stage
Aqua Lung LX secondary
Aeris Atmos2 handheld computer along with compass and pressure gauge
two hose for BCD and dry suit.

Not only that but I have no idea for what this set-up is worth. Thanks for any help

Ron

i would suggest it would probably easier to sell as a complete unit. but you might get a better price selling the reg without the consloe, and sell the console separately.

if selling here (they have a classified section) the apex should go quickly. most stuff i see sell here goes for a pretty low price. ebay might get you a much better price.

example......i've been trying to sell a $400 sherwood reg that is basically brand new for $150 and cannot find a buyer here. but i did get a fair price for my apex i sold previously.

I would sell it assembled. You will save yourself some headaches if one guys takes the whole lot off your hands. you are more likely to find a nube that wants to get started a reasonable price and being in Oregon, that means connectors for a dry suit. There are plenty of people in your position and trying to sell it in pieces will take more time and the extra money will be wasted because of the cost in time. I like to buy used gear off of Craigslist because I can actually see it before I buy, and know shipping cost or giving e-bay there cut (I think they do get a fee from the seller). If you are friends with an instructor, you might want to put out the word you are selling your gear. They might know a student that is looking for a bargain.

Unfortunately, diving is a money pit, and you are unlikely to get what you feel the gear is worth. One good person that will give your gear a good home and use it well is better than spending your Saturdays to meet a bunch of window shoppers that will hem, haw and then offer to take the stuff for even less...
