Hi:
I have seen these sock-like things in Monterey once at Lover's Point, and once at Stillwater Cove. When I see them, they are usually quite abundant. They look like empty threadbare tube socks (toe end up) that flutter in the surge, and are probably about 2-3 inches wide at the base and 4-6 inches in length.
Any idea what it is?
thanks!
Teresa

Just saw that there's a "Name That Critter" forum, but I don't quite know how to move these threads over. Next time I'll post in the designated area.

Now I can sleep at night.
