on the far - far east-side of the lake, Buffalo, NY - lots of wrecks up this way, quite a few from the 1880's to the 1970's, Quite a few of the wrecks still holding their cargo, it's weird but you gotta watch out, one wreck is over 100 years old and the rope rigging is intact and still in place from the masts. Quite a few sunken Warships from the War of 1812 lying around too.... Depths vary from 30 feet to 120'.

I've been out on a few wrecks in Eastern Lake Erie with Osprey Charters out of Barcelona that fit the description you gave. Really nice wrecks, really cold water. I bought a drysuit this winter so I can enjoy them a little more next time. The Wachter's wrote a couple of good reference books about Erie wrecks http://www.eriewrecks.com/ . One for the Western and one for the Eastern part of the lake. I am planning to make several trips out on Erie this summer, maybe I'll see you there.

There's quite abit of wrecks just outside Buffalo's Harbor, and in between Canada too. I bet you have pretty good wrecks and diving down at your end of the lake. Been to Cleveland a couple of times, fun place (The Flats) never diving though.

I work with a shop in Buffalo. We have a few trips booked with Osprey Charters this year, and we have another charter boat we use most weekends throughout the Buffalo Dive Season. Were looking forward to a few trips to the 1000 Islands this year too, and that just the local stuff. We have a dive calender on the Website
(keep in mind the calender is a work in progress. There will be more added as we get closer to our "dive season")

Your right there are a lot of cool wrecks in Eastern Lake Erie. I still have a lot more to check out!! :D
