Well, went back to the Quaarry today. Yesterday was ALL about work, so today was all about fun. Today I just got to dive and swim and see many of the sites in the quarry. He did have me clear my regulator a couple of times while swimming, to keep me used to taking it out of my mouth and clearning it. WOW, I couldn't believe it when we came up completely on the other end of the quarry. I knew my legs were exhausted, but i had no idea we had been under water, constantly in motiong for 25 minutes. When we went back he told me to follow the rock wall and he would be with me but not guiding me. I immediately tried to go down too far too fast and couldn't clear my ears, so i turned around and told him I had to go up. He told me to go to the bouy and go down slowly on the rope, clearing every two hand holds........It was the first time it was faily easy for me to clear my ears under water. I also was forgetting to exhale through my nose sometimes but have now learned to do that.

On the surface we worked on dive tables.

I can hardly to wait till next weekend. and its a THREE day weekend, maybe I can dive all three days. Looked at some equipment today and picked out my books mask and fins. The group at the quarr;y are planning a night dive next weekend and my instructor invited me to come if I want. That sound scary but exciting, I am seriously considering taking him up on it, if I can get away ( I live with my dad who has alzheimers and can't always get away..........scuba is the BEST stress releif and helps me be a better daughter and caretaker)

I think it must be illegal for someone to deliberately give someting to another person , KNOWING that the other person will become addicted with the FIRST use!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need to win the lottery so I can just spend my time traveling and diving.

thanks for letting me ramble.

skybird, I'm smiling while I read your posts.

Read my dive journal (link in my signature). I went through this incredible transformation from dubious about the whole thing to utterly addicted.

I now have 22 dives, and have now arranged THREE diving dates for this week.

Beware . . . being underwater and weightless is utterly addictive, and drains your bank account. Air fills are now a pack and a half a day habit for me :)

Hey Skybird,

Scubaboard is full of dive addicts....

If you think are are addicted after doing a couple of quarries, wait until you get on a beautiful Reef, or a good wreck!

Funny, now when we plan to travel my first thought is.. I wonder if I can dive there :D

Welcome to the party Skybird!

They could change the scuba board's name to dive addicts anonymous and none of us would know the difference ;)

Hello. My name is Pearl. And I'm an addict. If I don't hear that wonderful calming gurgle sound of my exhaled breath AT LEAST once every two weeks, I start going into withdrawls and it's all I dream about at night ;) ....Last night my husband came home from work and I was in the bathtub, wetsuit, BC and all......ok not really, but it could happen! ;)

So glad you have found this sport, it is truly a great outlet for so many different people with different backgrounds. Also glad you found scubaboard! Keep posting!

Ooooo, you've got it now! And guess what, the feeling just keeps getting better. I'm sitting here at work on Labor Day Weekend (while it's a crisp, sunny day outside) and all I can think about is diving next weekend. I need my fix of compressed air! You're hooked, too, so go with it and enjoy!

Actually if you become too addicted you'll be driving home after the end of some wild dives and ask why do we dive especially if you dive thru the winter. I hope you have great dive career and kinda feel your going to be a good diver since you seem to be enjoying it a lot.

welcome to the wet side :D
this is just the begining now you gotta figure out what gadget and dodad you'll need next. Start doing some reading of dive mags and different threads on the board
vist often ask a lot of questions and figure out when you can blow bubbles again ;)
