Seasonal dates for diving trips out of Galveston

Hi all,

Question for you.

Is there a start and stop date for the dive season for trips into the gulf off Galveston ?

I ask as I am flying into Houston from Belize to do my FAA A&P license mid February and have a few days free before hand and was wondering if i'd be able to book a trip out. I had looked at Ultradives website but it doesnt really say apart from you would be ok using a 3mm suit from May to September.

Is this the only months the boats run these trips to to the rigs ?

Your choices are Divemon, ultradive, Fish'ndivers, or M/V Fling. Fling runs scheduled hammerhead trips starting first weekend in February. Everyone else will be a charter. Fling departs from Freeport, about 40 miles down the beach road from Galveston, or 50 miles down hwy 6. Either will take about an hour.
