NO not Christmas, the real season --- SCUBA!!!

It is just around the corner, so I wanted to drop a quick hello to everyone.
Thanks to all those who supported us at Beneath The Sea this past month.

Also a quick invite.

Since almost everyone's drysuit flooded on the OFWF dives last fall, we hope to see you in the warmer weather when getting wet is fun (take it how you want).

See you on and in the water....

Yeah, there is NO such thing as a dive "season". Even if you're in a wetsuit ;)

I was in the water for an hour today at Brockville, 50 minutes of that at depth. It doesn't feel any cooler at 55' than it does at 0'. (Although that may yet change if I ever get into water much deeper than that)

That's okay, actually, heading back to shore at dive's end I was actually seriously considering dusting out the ol' drysuit and having another go at diving it.

As for under ice - yeah there was a month or two when I was niccing pretty bad for some Open Water - desperate enough to dive Brewers Mills and Humber Bay :D (although Brewers turned out to be pretty interesting after all)

You have a drysuit and you don't use it? Masochist!

Yeah, I've only pool dived it once and that was enough to know I hate it. Everyone else (drysuited buddies, naturally) say that I'll get used to it in time, and I suppose I will if I can bring myself to dive it a few more times, but for now, when I CAN still pull off 45 - 50 minutes bottom times in 37°F 55' water, I just fail to see the reason.......

That was my wifes first reaction too. She does plan on trying again, as she doesn't tolerate the cold as well as I. I'm still undecided (except for the part that I like being warm). Big annoyance is after reaching the point where I can change wetsuits (thickness and combo) around and still have bouyancy dialed in, I fell like I'm right back at the beginning again.
