I have been thinking about buying a seaquest pro and wearing a UDI weight system with it. does anyone know if the pro is a good BC and has anyone used this weight system.

BTW I will be doing warm and cold water diving, and absolutely hate rear inflate BC's

Thanks

I have the pro q d and it does the job. I like to take a lot of pics and it allows me to get into any position I need and hang there.

I do have the model with velcro pockets rather than the clik in pockets and like it better. I tried (in a pool) the clik pockets and one fell out with only a little weight in it. I heard it "clik" but it gave anyway....(for those that say it didnt seat properly). It is real hard for velcro "not to seat properly". And, if you keep it clean it will last a long time.

I also have the air source as an alternate. In that I dive with a pony every dive it is handy in getting rid of one more reg.

The Pro is basically a stripped down version of the Pro QD. Same good quality construction. It is a good bc. ANd, a little cheaper than the Pro QD.

whoops my mistake, I am interested in the seaquest pro not the pro QD, hence the weight system

If you had a backplate with a STA you might be able to ditch the weight system all together. I find mine to be very comfy without any extra weight needed.

Having said that the DUI setup looks good but I have not tried it.

When I decided to my wife a new BC this past spring we looked at the Sea Quest Pro. It is very nice and she liked it a lot. Their BC's seem to be very well constructed. In the end though I ended up buying her a Dive Rite Rec Pac. It has the same sturdy construction and features but was a little cheaper. Actually it was a lot cheaper because I got a better deal on it than I could get on the Pro.
