Does anyone know where I can get a Seaquest AirSource hose, with the shoulder dump unit, for a new Seaquest BCD. I recetly purchased an Atomic SS1 that I like much better than the Seaquest AirSource (ya I know about DIR...).
I removed my power inflator and mounted the SS1 on the Seaquest hose, using the Atomic universal screw on adapters. The only problem is the dedicated AirSource hose has a area midway through the hose where the dump cable connects. You can pull the hose at the mid-point when the unit is in your mouth to dump air. That feature is not present on the standard seaquest PI hose. As it is now I have to pull at the base (where the SS1 connects) or hold the SS1 over my head to dump air when verticle. In addition the hose retaining clips are on the wrong side of the standard PI hose, but on the correct side of the dedicated Airsource hose. Another dump unit would allow me to unscrew the entire assembly, and put my old PI assembly back on my BCD if the SS1 developed a problem, or if I decided to take a tek diving course (I am keeping my old traditional octo just in case).
I tried the LDS but he said he would have to order each numbered part and build it. I can't believe I am the first person looking for a replacement hose/shoulder dump assembly. Thanks for any help you can offer.
BTW- the SS1 breaths better than the R380 octo that it replaced. That D-ring on my vest is now home to my pony reg (ya I know about pony bottles...).
