Anyone diving the SeaQuest Diva LX? If so, how do you like it.

I just got one yesterday. I am going to get in the pool with it Saturday morning. The LDS said I could return/exchange it if I didn't like it after my pool dives.

I am switching from a Dacor Extreme Elle. I really like that BC, but on our trip earlier this month decided I was tried of trying to get the neoprene vest on with the BC.

My first BC was a Diva and I hated it. Didn't like the bulky feeling around my body, particularly under my arms. Also didn't like that it wouldn't stay down on my body and felt that it was always creeping up around my ears, especially at the surface.

On the other hand, I know quite a few female divers who love their Divas and see them all the time on dive boats. How YOU feel about the Diva is the only thing that matters. If it fits and you're comfortable in it, perfect! :D

Which BC are you using now? I definitely do not want a BC that creeps up... that is the problem I had with my original Mares BC.

It doesn't matter what creeps up on her, or not. What creeps up on you may be different, maybe just the opposite.

DamselFish,

I agree with that. I guess I was really wanting to know what people thought of the Diva overall. Since it seems you really can't tell for sure if you like a BC until you take it on a real dive. I have tried several things in the pool in the past and thought they were wonderful, than took them on a real dive and hated them. But I understand it is all personal preference. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some reason why people consistently disliked the Diva.

Exactly right! That's why it's so important to try as many BCs as you can before you pick that one that fits you best. Women have an enormous range of body types, thus what works for me won't necessarily work for you.

Because you asked, I dive in a Zeagle Zena and absolutely adore the way it fits and functions. Not everyone agrees with me. ;)

I've had a Diva LX for over 4 years and it has 300 dives on it...It looks like brand new. I can't believe how well it has held up. I've been very happy with it. Oh and it fits very well and it's adjustable, if for some reason it doesn't fit well.

ScubaJennifer, thank you. I like hearing that you have been happy with it. Again I realize we are all built differently, so no two people are going to necessarily like the same BC. But on the same token, it helps to hear why others like/dislike a BC when making a decision. I am going to try it in the pool tomorrow morning. If it works well there, I am taking it to Cozumel on October 20th.

I did see how adjustable it was. Infact, I initially tried on the one that was hanging up for display and thought it was too small, so he got me the bigger size. But after trying that one, he showed us how we could adjust it. I ended up buying the first one I tried on, because I liked how it fit once we adjusted it.
