I'm looking at purchasing a Black Diamond BCD from Seaquest. Is anyone in here familiar with this BCD? I dive in Monterey and would like a BCD I can use with both a wet suit and dry suit. I'm a Dive Master and will need to versatility, lift, and weight capacity for classes, as well as recreational diving in cold salt water.

............................. I purchased a new Black Diamond about 4 years ago, and had difficulty fully purging air during ascent. I have seen posts other divers who had this problem with the Black Diamond. For that reason I sold it after 8 dives, and purchased Seaquest Pro QD.... I love this model. It is also a back inflation model, and air is easily purged.

I just sold my Seaquest Pro QD (jacket style not back inflate) and bought a Black Diamond. Will have to get back to you after March.

I have a Seaquest Black Diamond that I am willing to part with. I purchased it less than a year ago for around $700. PM me if you are interested in making an offer for it. I used it on one dive trip and then started doing technical diving. The BC is virtually brand new.

Hey Greg,

I've been diving in a SeaQuest Black Diamond BCD for nearly 10 years with over 300 dives, the vast majority of these dives have been in Monterey; furthermore, I usually dive in a DUI CLx450, but I sometimes dive wet -- either way, I'm very satisfied with its performance.

When this one wears out and I need to replace it, I may look at others... OR, I might just purchase another without trying others. Yes, I'm that satisfied with it.

As you know, what works for one may not work for another. If you have any specific questions, feel free to PM me.

Jeff

Dude,

What are you asking for it? Do you have a picture of it?:D

Hi Jim,

Sorry for the general post. How much are you asking for the BD?

I bought on about a year ago and I love it. I dove the Ranger for years, but I found it to be to bulky and when it was wet it weighed a ton.

when i had decided to purchase a BC, the blackdiamond was at the top of the list, even found out that navy approved the use of the black diamond as one of their BCs, though i only tried it in the store after further research, i decided on a backplate/wing and never looked back. it has all you need with great versitility and a freedom of movement for the mojority if not all diving demands.

hope this helps.

i'd at least give a look into it...
