I got a new Sealife Ecoshot yesterday, and a new 1gb Sandisk SD card. I put the card in the camera, and had the settings on best quality...2816 x 2112 & FINE Quality. It showed up as 301 pictures as the manual says.
I then formatted the card through the camera (I always do this...I think camera manuals used to say to do this, I don't know if its necessary, but I've had bad cards fixed this way). Anyway, now the camera says we have 1232 pictures left, and when I look at the properties of the removable disk (the camera) through my computer hooked up via usb, it says the capacity is 3.86GB. The pictures are still coming out of the camera the same, and at about 2.5MB each.

Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this before?
