Just one question on replacing my mouthpiece on my ATX 200 2nd stage!! Will replacing that mouthpiece affect the performance or venturi effect at all ? The mouthpiece I am talking about is a Seacure custom piece!!:)

Thanks for help!!!
Mike

It will not effect the performance at all. It will just make it your jaw feel better.

I use a seacure mouthpiece with a TX50 and find the performance to be fine so far. Funny thing is that when I was tuning my second stages according to Apeks specifications a few weeks ago I did notice that the second stage with the seacure mouthpiece would not kick in to "venturi free flow" (ie one of the Apeks specs is that when venturi is turned on hitting the purge button is supposed to initiate a violent free flow that is stopped by turning venturi off or increasing inhalation resistance via the adjustment knob; I found this an important characteristic to be aware of too). Wanting to find out what was up, I put the factory mouthpiece back on in place of the seacure -- retesting with the factory mouthpiece did give the venturi free flow. So there could be a basis for some effect, but I don't notice it. I also have a seacure jammed on a Poseidon Jetstream/Odin which restricts the mouthpiece orifice even more. IMO seacure mouthpieces rock.

The opening through a SeaCure is smaller than a standard mouthpiece and as a result, there is enough backpressure on purge to prevent venturi freeflow.

This is not a problem except when tuning the reg.
