If you seen some of the dive reports from Mini-season you'll hear a common thread in each one. The current was ripping like crazy. Most hunters were just flying past honey holes filled with bugs because they couldn't slow down to grab them. Plenty and Plenty of bugs were left on the reefs. I talked to Sandy Sunday on the radio yesterday and she said the same thing, not many people were limiting because they couldn't hold position.
But on the other hand some of the better hunters like Tropical_Diver and myself limited both days, but every muscle in my body aches today from fighting the current. And I got bit by a small spotted eel when I did an over and under grab. Thank goodness for kevlar bug gloves it didn't produce any blood. But he did put a 2nd, 3/4 inch bite chunk on my lobster's tail when I was pulling it out, I kept the bug to show everyone up top.
Temps were a fantastic 81 degrees and vis was pretty good at 40 feet. Double check your equipment now so if anything is broken you can have it check. We had one computer break on us and did some interesting things to finish the dives.
The bugs are still there and not picked over, best of luck to you!!
