Sea/Sea YS15 strobe and cannon

I use a fiber optic cable attached with black Velcro attachment to my Cannon underwater case and for some reason the strobe does not consistently flash. I use the #2 setting for preflash. I emailed Sea and Sea but no response. I know the fiber optic is working other wise it would never flash. I repositioned the Velcro to be sure the port for the cable can pick up the preflash. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

They YS15 is the auto strobe, correct?

If so, leave it on auto and let it do the rest.

I use a ys25 with my canon without any problems at all.

If not sure if it's related to this, but..

cycle through your flash settings and make sure your camera is set to "forced flash" (the lightning bolt without the little "A", I believe) and not "auto flash" (the default).
