I took a brief photo course on using ambient light with my 1G. Lost my notes. It involved setting white balance using a white slate. Anybody familiar with this and how I go about doing it?

I think the process is to go into your white balance settings and set the wb to "manual", then hold the camera to the white slate, depress the shutter 1/2 way like you are focusing and when you get "focus" depress all the way...your wb should be manually set to that white slate.

If I'm off somewhere, someone please set us straight :D
