I am planning a trip to Arizona in Feruary and I am wondering what is available for diving in the Yuma area in the Sea of Cortez. I am not sure of the geography or distances from Yuma to Salt water but it would be nice to get somes dives in

Thanks

You'd be better off driving to San Diego. It's closer and the diving is better. San Diego is about a 2 hour drive from Yuma. You can get to Rocky Point from Yuma, but it'll take you about twice as long and the diving isn't that great, if you can even find a boat going out. To get decent diving in the Sea of Cortez you have to head down to San Carlos, which would be about a 7-8 hour drive.

Check out the Arizona Scuba forum here on the Board.

What part of February are you planning on being in Yuma? I'm planning a trip to San Diego for sometime in February. We're going for reasons other than diving, but will probably schedule a full day for some shore dives while there. San Diego won't be much colder than Sea of Cortez at that time of year.
