I hold my Commercial Diving Certs as well as a Padi OW. I want to become a DM then an Instructor. My local Dive Shop that I take TDI (Technical Diving International) classes through teaches STI (Scuba Diving Internations) and not Padi. Should I stay with PADI or go with STI. Opions about both Organizations would be great.

Do you mean SDI? PADI, NAUI, SDI or whatever. It's a matter of what you are going to gain from the course and are you comfortable with the instructor and his/her experience and qualifications. I believe PADI recognizes SDI certifications so moving on to a PADI DM and instructor should not be a problem.

yes sorry about that it was a typo.

Excuse for being rude, since PaulSmithTek is commercial diver, then he must be very conformtable underwater. Then switching to PADI or NAUI or SSI or whatever is a matter of profitability and/or recreational purpose. Personally, I think PADI is probably the most profitable choice to go....... don know about what other think.

My understanding now is that it really doesnt matter who you are certified through as long as the education is good, and you learn the skills that you need to dive safely. I remeber before when I was first certified my padi instructor told me that with Padi you can dive anywhere, as with ssi or naui you cant. But my understanding (correct me if I am mistaken) is you can dive anywhere in the world as long as you hold a c-card. So really yes I am talking about profits, which organization is going to make more profit, in addition people's opions about who has the better education SDI or Padi.
