Bought a new SD800 as a fun point and shoot for fun dive trips. It replaces my old S100 2mp in a canon housing. The question is "which housing to buy?"

After reading some posts here it sounds like the Canon may have some problems but my old one has never leaked or flooded at all. There is a substantial difference between the Canon and Ikelite housings price wise. I doubt I'll invest in new strobes/arms etc for this camera so... Is it worth the extra for a new Ikelite?

Thanks for any input..

Carl

I don't believe it would be worth it and I'd go with the canon housing. It's smaller than the Ike and thereby more portable & easier to handle and I haven't seen many complaints about them.

But then I'm still waiting for my first camera & housing to arrive, so my experience with them is nil.

Thanks for the input. I'm kinda leanong that way. My old one has been great and it is a lot smaller as well as less $$$$

go with the ikelite its a 100 bucks more but it will last longer and all the o-rings can be replaced. I had 2 canon housing leak thru the shoot button and canon replaced them but they say the o-rings are not replacable Around the buttons and knobs.
