Hey ScubbyDoo,

I noticed you were from Little Rock and wanted to know if you went to the Treasure Hunt on Lake "O" this weekend. I was doing my open water at the dam on Sat and Sun and there were a ton of people. Looks like it was a good time for all. Our LDS is doing one in late August and I'm planning on going to that one.

No, I didnt go to the treasure hunt. I wish I would have. My LDS is/was the sponsor of that particular hunt. Ricks Dive-N-Travel out of Little Rock. They have been holding it annually for about 25 years. This year they were giving away over $8000 in prizes, with the grand prize being a $1000 shopping spree at the dive shop. I think they take up to about 120 divers in each years treasure hunt, and I know they were pretty close to being full this year. When you add in freinds and family I bet there was close to 500 people there this year. I unfortunately was at the office working. Those dreaded dastard deadlines!!! Besides, my computer was in the shop getting its batteries replaced. I'm sure I'll be in there next year though!!

So how did your OW dives go? The last time I dove Lake Ouachita was my AOW dives in April and the water temp was 63/59. Last I checked it was up to 75 or so. Is your dive shop's hunt going to be at Ouachita also?

I almost forgot!

CONGRATULATIONS

 :balloon: :yea: :jump: :thumb:

Welcome to underwater world

Yes, the hunt will be at Lake "O". I'm not sure of the dates yet, but I do know that is where they will have it. The water was about 75 on the surface but got pretty cold about 40'. It was about 61 at 43'. Needless to say, we didn't stay down there too long....LOL. I was very impressed with the conditions this weekend, the water was pretty clear and the weather was absolutly gorgeous. I'm planning a one day dive there probably around the middle of Sept.
