Anyone know where I can get good prices online for Scubapro products?
My local dealer just closed and the other shops in the area are, lets just say over the top on the pricing.

Have you tried DiveINN.com? I have bought some stuff on this site and am a big fan (great prices and customer service). I have been impressed by how DiveInn handles their orders, deliveries, exchanges and warranty issues. BUT, make sure you weigh the risks of buying "Life Support" equipment online. I recommend that you read some of the other threads on the issue of buying equipment online before buying your regulator.

Take care.

SP is adamant about keeping their stuff away from I-Net dealings. Smart move on their part. As for you r Dive Shop going under, sometimes you have to charge more to stay in business. Possibly, the "over the top" gang might have a better chance because they charge what market will bear. However, if they are really off of the mark, look for them to join your dearly departed LDS soonly.

http://www.leisurepro.com

Great service Great Prices and they have just about everything made..

Good Luck :D

Consider the warranty thing though. I say bahh humbug and buy the cheap stuff and sweet talk my LDS (they have plenty of my money as well) they take care of me.

I say the parts and labor will take a long time to add up to the difference in price... I don't know about you but I know I only keep my stuff maybee a year or two before I just HAVE to get that new thing that is so cool. You know what I mean?

Anyhow.. leisurepro is in the USA at least

Speaking of which; I notice leisurepro.com has a Scubapro MK14 regulator. I don't see it listed in the ScubaPro catalog. anyone familiar with this regulator?

I'm not real familiar with any of the Scubapro stuff... other than it's suppossed to be pretty good. I also know their naming structure.. it sounds like it would be a first stage only... I know that the MK20/S600 or S550 are really good choices.

Good Luck :D

Scubapro has discontinued the MK14. Think they upgraded it to the MK18 then upgraded that to the MK16. (I think that is the way it went)

Doesn't mean it is a bad reg. SP upgrades every few years. The famous G500 second stage is no longer available, because they started making the S600. Both are good second stages. But, think Leisurepro bought them on a closeout special.

Just my 2 cents but you might want to think about this.

I talked to my LDS and he quoted me 465.00 for the MK20 G250
and Leisurepro has it for 399.00 = lets say for my area (San Bernardino, CA) 15.35 for three day UPS not counting any tax for a total of 415.30.

so you save $40.00 bucks, but now you lose out on the LIFETIME warrenty on parts. which could end up costing you 100.00 + a years on service.

In the long run you could end up paying more for your reg, plus the advantage of having the support of a real live person that knows the product and can fix problems for you right away.

I'm not saying dont buy it on line, just consider the whole picture. I would buy fins or gloves, clips, weights that stuff no problem, although my LDS always makes it worth it to buy from him, but anyway good luck.

The MK14 (brass) and MK18UL (lightweight marine grade aluminum/ceramic composite) are about the same regulator only made from different materials. The MK14 (swivel first stage) has been upgraded to the MK16 (non-swivel), but the MK18UL is still being made.

Hope this helps,
Ken

I was inquiring about scubapro regs @ my LDS and he told me that there was a problem with the mk 18/s550.I can't remember whether he was referring to 1st stage or 2nd but he said that they were not being made anymore.(but i should look into maybe the mk 20/s600.)Was he pullin' my leg or is there a problem out there? thanks, Les
