If I buy a scubapro reg from an individual that has a blank warranty card that was not sent in, can it be filled out and sent in under my name or does an authorized dealer have to do that?

Thanks

The warranty card does not have to be sent in by the dealer. In fact I have purchased scubapro regs from 2 different dealers and they both told me to just go register them online at the scubapro site instead of sending in the card. I still have the warranty cards, but they regs are registered. Also to consider, just because you have the plastic warranty card does not necessarly mean you will be covered. Don't know that this would happen, but i think the scuba pro web site says to keep proof of purchase i.e. receipt to prove you purchased from authorized dealer for the free parts.

I am sure the reg was registered by online regristration. You will need to get the owner's name, original receipt, and the blue warranty card. The final say will be Scubapro and your LDS on warranty issues and free annual service parts. How much are you talking about between new and used?

With respect to the free parts program. To maintain the free parts program you need to have your regs serviced annually. With Aqualung if you mess up you are done forever. With Scubapro all you have to do to reinstate the warranty is pay for parts one time and then stay on the program and they will be free again. Many shops wont tell you that because when you are on the free parts deal they don't make a penny on service kits. When you run out of warranty they make money off you. So don't get suckered .

need original sales receipt from authorized dealer .the receipt must have your name on it.all our SP sales of regulators/bcds/computers have serial # on it also.keep paper work documentation from annual service as it would be required for following years service to get the free parts..
