Wanted ScubaPro Vintage/Older Regs

I've got an old G250 graphite I bought new in 1984. Not sure what model the first stage is. Great shape and still works perfectly. Serviced regularly. I'm going to upgrade to something with some newer technology. Anybody know what it's worth?

looks like a mk10 first stage, need to check the seat retainer to tell if it is the plus version. the g250 is still a fine 2nd stage. not much to upgrade unless if you want a sealed first stage.

I agree with Runsongas. The MK10/G250 is a great combination and you will be hard pressed to find an "upgrade" that is on par with what you already have. As far as "what is it worth?" It's worth a lot more to use it and avoid purchasing a new regulator. To get an idea of the amount you might expect to receive should you sell it, go to eBay and modify your search to include only like items and click on "sold listings" under the "show only" section.

Re the age of your regulator; I used to work in a SP store. If my recollection is correct, the MK10 did come out around '84, but the G250 did not appear until '86 and according to http://www.scubapro.com/en-US/USA/regulators-timeline-eng.aspx the Graphite around '87.

Keep what you have and go diving with the money you save.

Thanks for the info. Obviously, it must have been around '87 then. That's a seriously good memory you have! You're right, after checking ebay it's better just to keep it.

Lol, my brother and I got them at the same time. He graduated from the Air Force Academy and a grad present from one of his buddies dad's was, anyone who wanted gear, could have it at cost. (He owned a dive shop). One was graphite, one was not. We had no clue what the difference was and I just ended up with the graphite one.

The basic designs we see in today's offerings were developed 30 to 40 years ago. since then it has mostly been glitz and glitter with a few bells and whistles, and improved production processes which tend to increase profit. Sadly, a few designs which had favorable performance characteristics but were more complex than shop techs could handle have been discontinued.
