Hi,
I need some advise on the scubapro twin jet split fins. I bought the fins beacause is highly remcomended for weak swimmer and it is especially useful for strong currents. Actually I am not sure whether this fins helps me during my dive. The reason is because my foot hurts after using them. I think is the foot pocket. But the sales person thinks that the size of the fins fits me well, as long as i when i shake it and it doesnt loosen.
Could it be my fininf style? But i have followed their instrcutions of doing small kicks? Could it be i tighten it too much? Or this fins just doesnt fit my feet? Sigh!

I have tried my friend's tusa ZOOM FINS. Is seems to fit me so much better, at least the rubber is not so hard.

Pls give me some advise.
Thanks

Those fins are "highly recommended" because they are very expensive.

Some people like them. Many people don't.

As far as "useful for strong currents" or "weak swimmers"..The jury is still out on that. To be honest the split-fin issue is is one of the more labored discussions for beginning divers. (and I know you were referring to fit and not performance)

Keep in mind that dive shops love to move the splits because they cost much more than a simple fin.

If the ScubaPro split fins fit you and your foot still hurts you could try to just slow down. The entire point behind splits is to use less energy. As stated many divers find the reduced resistance a benefit.

That said a majority of divers find the splits a marketing ploy.

A good pair of stiff paddle fins and (preferably spring straps) will last you a lifetime.

You already said you prefer your your friends fins. Why not go with what makes you happy?

Sounds like a salesman sold you, figuratively. >"especially useful for strong currents" and
" recommended for weak swimmer" and "I have followed their instructions of doing small kicks" < I think you have open heel fins and are wearing boots. Those fins come in closed heel also.

Bottom line they hurt. I can't see them on your foot so I can't say why, to tight etc. Take them back talk to the owner and get a pair of zooms you said they fit you and you tried them. (And ask your salesman how long hes been diving? He has to be very experienced, maybe not in diving.) If you can try fins in a pool and you can try Apollo Bio-fins and/or Atomic fins do so. Those 2 fins were ranked number 1 and 2 for years and had the best ratings for comfort besides the most power and speed. The Zooms was up there also. If the shop you bought them from won't fix the problem that you think is satisfactorily then take a hit sell them and buy fins that are comfortable and just say bye to that shop in the future. (but let them know).
