Does the soft plastic split fins perform OK for a recreational diver about 51 years old?

I personally own a set of the black (hard) Twin Jets and absolutely love them.

We recently tested the blue (soft) and black (hard) Scubapro Twin Jets. We discovered that if you have strong healthy legs, the black ones performed better, and that the blue ones were way too soft - lacking in propulsion.

We also felt that the foot pockets on the blue ones were much more squishy, causing an abnormal feel to the diver.

We came to the conclusion that the blue (soft) Twin Jets were good for people with weaker legs, or who perhaps might have some sort of leg / knee injury. Or, for the female diver who found the black ones too much of a chore to kick with.

Of course, I would recommend you test drive the black ones first, and then the blue ones. Both fin very easily through the water and don't require much movement on the divers behalf to get you going.

Cheers!!! :crafty:
