You might want to check on the Divernet.com forums. I was looking at one too. Since they are low priced for a Compressed Neoprene.

Divernet also reviewed it in there gear tests.

I have checked the divernet.com forum and there are people giving opinions on the suit but mostly along the lines of "it is made by northern divers so it must be bad". I am hoping to get an opinion of someone who actually has dived in the suit.

The Divernet revies looks promising but did not give a lot of detail.

I tried one once before I knew too much about dry suits and prior to DIR, and was not too impressed. The neoprene on those suits has a lot of compression issues with changing depths. If you plan on sticking to normal rec dives then look at getting a Procean suit. It is made by the same manufacturer as the SP (most all the stuff is actually made by the same manufacturers) and will cost you 1/5 the price, and really is the exact same suit.

One good side to neoprene is the added warmth, but for wreck diving, caves etc. is not a very good option

Are you sure it was the Spitzbergen. It's 4mm Compressed neoprene. Not regular neoprene. ScubaPro has also sold other Neoprene drysuits that weren't Compressed. The Spitzbergen is new this year or last year also.

I've been using a Spitzbergen for the last three winters.

Being exclusively recreational I am very happy with it.
