Scubapro Nova Light 230

I have purchased the Scubapro Novo 230.It is by all accounts a very good product and very bright.The main reason this one really appealed to me was when i am in very remote areas and restricted power supply and the hassle of charging up batteries or travelling with packs of batteries etc.. and lenght of time of battery life and more important to me also is in these remote area's having no real waste management and our waste being left there,in this case batteries.The Novo 30 states a 18 to 20 hour burn time,which is great and solves all these issues

Has anyone experience using this product.Its reliability and is burn time correct.(using 3 Duracell + ) It also has double o- ring,so i imagine the chance of a leakage is unlikely.it also comes with a extra set of o-rings.Of course care should be taken keeping o-rings clean etc.. Should or how often should o-rings be removed and creased or replaced or when in storage.Unlike our Cameras,little maintenance is needed for lights

Althoughi haven't personally used this light they are fairly common over here in Japan. I have not heard of any issues with them.

The O rings should be inspected regularly for signs of cracking or wear and a very light covering of silicone grease, I put a dab on my finger and roll the O ring, be sure to double check that no hair or lint has been picked up as even the smallest contaminant can cause a leak. Too much grease and it will attract sand etc.

If I'm storing my lights for any length of time I clean the O ring and use a light spray of silicone and of course remove the batteries.

The orings in the Nova 230 should be lubricated according to how much diving you are doing. Frequent checks of the orings will also help keep an eye out for debris accumulation that can affect the sealing capabilities of the orings. Change the roings should you notice any chafing or cracking.
The light output of the 230 stays constant for about 18 hours and gets slightly dimmer after that point . The light will continue to burn for at least 36 hours.
