Scubapro MK5 with 100% 02?

I don't see why not. The seat is the same as the MK10 and has gone through a few revisions. You can bet that MK10s have been used as an O2 reg on a few thousand dives. You might contact SP to make sure that this seat is O2 compatible. It's not easy to find a DIN fitting for the MK5, though, will you be using yoke?
 
MK10 has a nitrox kit with the proper seat and orings, the MK5 does not. Scubapro is going to say no-go on the MK5. Perhaps consider just getting a MK2 NX, sure would save the hassle and eliminate the question mark.

Well, considering the seat on the MK10 and MK 5 are the same, that doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? Viton o-rings are available easily, in fact most are the same for the MK10 and 5. BTW, what's the difference between the regular MK10 seat and the "nitrox" seat?

And of course calling it a "nitrox" kit is somewhat foolish, because either reg would be fine with recreational nitrox (up to 40%) without any sort of modification or special treatment.

I should have specified the MK10+ (plus). The specific nitrox seats and orings for the MK10+ (plus) are very much different and according to scubapro, designed for oxygen compatible use up to 100% oxygen along with proper oxygen cleaning and use of oxygen compatible lubricants. There is no up to 100% nitrox/O2 kit for the (non MK10+) MK10 and MK5. Scubapro specifies that their orings and kits for their currently supported regulators are compatible with nitrox mixtures up to 40% with proper maintenance combined with oxygen compatible lubricants.

And there is no chance that scubapro is going to start making specific high O2 kits for the MK5 anytime in the near future.

What one chooses to do outside of suggested and stated manufacturer norms is up to them. To the original question in mind, if you want the answer scubapro will provide, no, the MK5 will not be considered compatible for use with oxygen percentages of 100% given their current oring and seat supply support.
 
Okay, so you meant MK10+. I believe that the MK10+ uses the current MK20/25 seat. What's the difference between that seat and the 'non' nitrox seat, and why is it that thousands and thousands of MK20/25 owners successfully use nitrox without the SP "nitrox" seat?

If it's a seat designed specifically for O2 concentrations higher than 40%, I wonder why it's not called an "O2 compatible" or something similar, rather than "nitrox" which we all know has basically come to be used as a term for recreational nitrox most of the time. Is SP saying that the MK25 without the "nitrox" kit is not appropriate for recreational nitrox? Forgetting about the titanium model, I mean. And I'd be interested in knowing what material the nitrox seat is made out of and how it differs from the original seat.

To the OP, because the MK5 originally used a flat disc seat, it would be a relatively simple matter to cut (or have cut) seats made of an appropriate O2 safe material, use viton o-rings, and Christolube or Tribolube. That's assuming that the current MK5/10 seat is actually a problem with higher concentrations of O2, which I kind of doubt.
