I went for a pair of APEKS ATX100s for back gas, and when mounted on double 80s some of the hose bends can get a little bit tight back there but not especially so. I reckon these are so well made that they are probably the last regs I will ever own. The DST/ATX50s I have for my stages are pretty nice too.

I also have a Mk25/S600 which I used to use for recreational diving but all my dives are in lovely warm water so icing is not usually a problem for me...

I think the FSTs (what you are using) are still the best choice for AL80 doubles (as far as Apeks is concerned). I find the DS4 and the MK20/25 hose routing rather tight for AL80 doubles.
