Hey guys im getting into doubles and got the mk25 1st stage. wondering where the best spot is to put the hoses are.

Thanks!!!

Thanks i did not know you could use the bottom as a port!! what set up do you use for tech.?

I use MK25/S600s for my doubles. The hose routing is very clean, just as illustrated in the link. I love my regs -- I think they're the best breathing regulators I've ever experienced (and we do air-shares all the time, so I get to breathe of ALL my buddies' regulators).

I dont like the new g250v. I like the model before that. I dive with the mk25/g250. no problems !!!!

Do you ever have the cold water free flow problems with the MK25?

I haven't had any free-flow problems with them. I was worrying about that last weekend, when air temps were in the mid-30's and the water temp was 44. I didn't breathe the regs on land that day, but waited until I was in the water to test them.

I haven't breathed the G250V. Most of my buddies have Apeks, Atomics, or Zeagles.

I can't tell any difference between breathing through my G250HP(old model) and my buddies G250Vs when they are all tuned properly.

I don't know why you'd preffer one over the other...

My doubles have Mk25/S600s on both posts.

I like the G250V and original G250 due to the metal air barrel that greatly reduces dry mouth. It also improves heat transfer and reduces the possibility of freeezing the second stage in extremely cold water. I have had S600's and X650's blow ice chunks at me on ice dives, so with the plastic air barrel they are on the edge and a chnk of ice and the wrong spot where it blocks lever travel can cause the reg to fail open (inconvenient) or closed (very interesting in a full face mask).

The S600 gets rave reviews and it is deserved as it is a great reg. But the G250HP, G250 and G250V are all better regs. They use the same basic poppet design and internal workings, but the S600 uses a smaller diaphragm that supplies less mechanical advantage to operate those same parts, so by design it requires a slightly larger inhalation effort.

No one notices though if the regs are tuned to SP specs that limit the maximum performance of the larger diaphragmed designs to the same performance as the smaller diaphragm designs. But if you tune them for max performance, the G250 and G250V are extremely sweet breathing second stages.
