Hi one of our companions has an mk25 . Spg wasnt working today. I thought its a busted spg swapped out spg, still nothing.

Decided to remove spg hose and open valve. The hp port diesnt have gas!

How is it the other hp port works, as well as all the LP ports are working!

But after careful review he just dumps all his regs in a tub of soapy water with the 1st stage open 🙈🙈🙈🙈

What could be wrong with the hp port?

The tiny orifice that limits flow (intentionally) in the HP port might be blocked, and not the other one

Never tried, I only have a “bad” idea: sticking the thinnest needle I could find in it and hoping to push the contaminant out the other side

A rebuild is what I’d go for, the way “back” is towards the tank inlet or the piston tip — not good options for a tiny particle that can scratch a piston edge or get stuck between the filter and piston
(Also mk25 rebuilds are fairly simple, and you can even reuse the seat if it looks decent)

Was there any signs of corrosion there?

hardly any corrosion. but…. after a dive they just dump all their regs in a bucket of soapy. water 🤦

with the yoke cover open sometimes. i suspect particles in the water or soap… got in . 😂

oh well…. if we did the overhaul. how do we dislodge that particle??? this is a weird thing to happen.

Tricky to say how, I’d hope the process (fine brush, ultrasonic) would dislodge it a bit and maybe blowing air through (from the port inwards) would release it

The bucket thing is alright (a bit); but on the rare occasions I do that I blast it after on a tank with all ports open

It needs an overhaul and a new owner

ive read somewhere having water get in the 1st stage wont kill
it… but if hes been doing it the last 2years 😔

More probable the blockage is corrosion (I suspect)
Honestly if it’s a yoke it is pretty easy to seal it before dunking in the tub
