Currently I have a Dacor Quantum regulator that I can no longer get serviced. I know a Scubapro dealer who is getting rid of his Scubapro MK18 regulators and wanted to get some feedback on what a good value would be and if this is a good performing regulator

The Mk 18 is a Mk 16 with a swivel turret for the LP ports.

The Mk 17 is the same basic reg as the Mk 16 but with a sealed ambient chamber, a better seat alignment system (that is being retrofitted into the Mk 16 and Mk 18) and an extra HP port.

So in effect, the performance is the same as the Mk 17, it just is not sealed, has on HP port, and has a swivel turret.

What is he askng for one?

Not sure, I am waiting to hear back from him. I left him a voice mail and I will see him tomorrow. I know that the second stage affects the price as well. Trying to understand Scubapro solutions. I have dove with US Divers/AL and thought it was good equipment. Want to try and get with a company unlike Dacor that will not go out of business (acquired and unable to make parts).

Yes, Mares really screwed Dacor customers when they acquired the company and discontinued support.

Neither Scubapro or Aqualung are likely to discontinue support for discontinued regs - both have a reputation for long term support measured in decades.

In order of preference I like the:

G250V
G250HP
S600
Legend LX
