Does anyone out there have a Scubapro Mk17 yet/or real information on them.... if so what is the flow rate stated at 200BAR in the manual?

Also other than the marketing number.. does anyone know of any other differences that would make it worth waiting to buy Mk17s for more money than Mk16s?

Not sure if other manufacturers state flow rates in their manuals/blurb.. if so it would be a great thing to add to the 1st Stage details thread............

cheers,

Jon

I have not yet had one in hand since it, like everything else Scubapro, seems to be destined to reach the US market last.

But based on the schematic, it is a balanced diaphragm regulator that incorporates an outer dipahragm to totally seal the environmental chamber. It also incorporates a set of Mk 25 style fins around the ambient chamber section of the reg for reasons that appear to be redundant.

The Mk 16 with it's TIS system is however already an excellent and very reliable cold water reg, so the environmentally sealed design of the Mk 17 is not as great an advance over the Mk 16 as it initially appears.

The Mk 17 is an entirely new design and based on what I have heard in the past at tech seminars, the flow rate is supposed to be better than the Mk 16. But again at 175 SCFM, the MK 16 already has a very good flow rate so whether it is worth waiting for a Mk 17 is debateable
