No pin on the dust cover, I guess italian?
I don't know the country of origin, but produced early on in G250 history. It was made when divers were intelligent enough not to unscrew their regulator face plate during a dive.

The black, rather than splined chrome, adjustment knob indicates a later generation than the first.

I’m exactly at that point right now! I binged VDH videos and I’m about to buy my first used g250 and try it. I’m open to any advice! (Sorry for the tread hijack)

Just be prepared to get an s-wing poppet to upgrade if you get an older one. Plenty of people on this forum have them. And enjoy! I love getting an old reg into shape and breathing as good as the new $500-600 regs.

@mike_bayer : maybe, but it pre-dates the pin implementation....

Or go to Vintage Double Hose and follow Bryans instructional video. That is what started me down the rabbit hole of self repair and maintenance.

Yes. I went to VDH, have watched (and re-watched, and.....) the video(s), plus ordered the 250 service kit(s) and the poppet upgrade kit. I am definitely started down that hole!! I also have 3 - 109’s I may “tackle” after I master the 250’s.

The 109`s are easier, especially if you go the duro poppet route. If you have an old style tan poppet from your G250 check this out;Repurposing old poppet upgrade from a G250

I have two plastic barrel HPs that only say G250 on the cover, each from different source, histories are unknown so "upgrade" is a possibility on them.

Jacobyz, I have a couple extra metal air barrels and associated parts for G250 on hand if you happen to need one. Agree there is no big reason to make the switch, personal preference perhaps.

Kupu, what would the cost be for a metal air barrel for the 250HP (and would also work to convert a G200 to a 250)? Thanks!!

Apologies, my extra G250 air barrels have been claimed since I made the offer a few posts back.

Okay. We are back from vacation, my Scubapro tool kit arrived and I just took the cover off the “mystery” 250 (or 250HP). Pictures attached. The case has the “pebble” finish. The adjustment knob is bigger/different than my “regular” 250. It says “DIVE” with some “directional indicators.” So, assumed it was an HP. But, opened up the case and it has a metal air barrel. Looks like the inside of a 250. But there is an extra plastic plastic piece near the adjustment knob end which appears to be related to the adjustment mechanism. One more piece of information/clue. This 2nd stage came from a set with what appears to me to be a MK15 DIN with a Yoke attached. Also, the SPG measures BAR. So, what do I have, folks?

No problem. I am just getting started with “self-service” and did not realize what I needed, soon enough. I will inquire of others. Thanks!!
