I recently did a pool dive to check out my newly serviced regs which went fine, but with the air still on out of the water I depressed the purge button to ensure that it closed automatically AND IT DID NOT! I sought help and was assured that this was normal and in the water the purge valve would close normally. Unfortunately I did not check this.
These are the facts:
1. I notived the air presure was far higher than normal - over 300 psi.
2. Both regulators suffered with the same problem.
3. Closing the ventura valve to reduce the air supply to the regulator prevented this happening.
As I am about to go to the Red Sea for a week any comments would be welcome.

Many thanks. :blinking:
