I am considering getting myself a Scubapro Equator. The reviews I have read all seem favourable, but some concerns have been raised as to the low Lift provided by this BCD: being 15Kg / 33Lb for the Large size (by comparison the Oceanic Cruz has a lift of 18Kg / 41Lb for the same size).

Has anyone any recommendations regarding this particular product and its lift values ? I have read a number of discussions regard "lift" in general, and whilst the answer may be "it depends" I am hoping for a generic easy answer specific to this product !

Will be using it for recreational diving, often in colder water, and may look at moving onto the limits of AOW in time.

Thank you in advance.

Scubapro Equator is an excellent B.C. for rec. diving and travel.

It has plenty of lift for rec. diving.

It is an excellent value!

33# lift is a realistic amount for an average recreational equipped diver... note: I said average. Now that doubles are beginning to shop up in recreational scuba, the game changes...

The equator has plenty of lift on it for normal recreational diving. You could even dive a single steel with it. If you are going to get one though do it soon because they were discontinued by scubapro along with the geo this year to make room for having just two travel type BCDs (GO and Litehawk)

I believe it is a great bcd, my wife is using and happy with that.
However She is 170cm and 60 kg
