Ralph,

Dennis dives in the summer wearing a t-shirt, not a 7 or 3 mil wetsuit. You are comparing apples and oranges.

Ralph,

I appreciate your input with the issue of using a cummerbund. I may try one to see how I like it and then either keep it or reject it as I see fit. Walter knows my diving habits very well and he is probably right about my comfort level with the cummerbund. I like warm water diving, always have, always will. Wet Suits (even ones that fit well) are restrictive and I don't like them. I like diving with a swim suit and a T-shirt. By the way I learned something on this thread. It's a cummerbund, not a cumberbund. Why I didn't know that before, who knows? Just didn't.

I'm reminded of a radio program of a few years back. The host would adopt a hick voice and make strange phone calls to businesses. Once he called a bakery to order a cumber bun. The poor girl at the bakery had a very difficult time, but it was funny!

I don't use back pads or cummerbunds and I skip the t-shirt as well. The BC is comfortable for me without either. I really don't care for the added drag.

As for cummerbund vs cumberbund, I have a difficult time with spelling (one of my many weaknesses), so I use spell check and a dictionary. I learned it was cummerbund via Webster's Unabridged.

Good choice, I just got the "Glide Plus" but had planned on the Classic. Love the BC, and pretty much anything Scubapro has. There gear is top of the line, I also just got the MK-25 1st stage and the 600 2nd stage Reg...... it is like I am standing on land breathing.

Heard that the difference between MK25 & MK20 is only on the material, all the technology and design is similar.
Regards

I sure am glad to hear all these good things about the Scubapro Classic Sport! I have a brand new mens XL that I need to sell and I didn't know that much about them. Wish one of you guys had a medium Scubapro Lacyhawke medium...I'd trade you in a heartbeat!

I guess you could say I am a SCUBAPRO fan, lets see my mask, BC, Reg, snorkle, fins, hood are all SCUBAPRO. The BC you are talking about is the one I was going to get last OCT, but when I went into the shop they did not have my size but they had just gotten in the "Glide Plus" BC which I tried and very much love better than the Classic. The difference in the two are the Classic is a vest type BC which I have used in the pool when helping with students, it inflates front and back top to bottom. The "Glide Plus" is more of a back inflation type with just a little around the waist. I did find the Classic was more uncomfortable to me, but likeing SCUBAPRO like I do if that is the BC you want then go for it, you can't go wrong.

The classic is an EXCELLENT BCD. Very strong and well made. You will not destroy it. I have 1000 dives on mine without a problem. Bad points: A jacket BCD is more difficult to take off, especially with a drysuit, and especially with computers, compass and watch on the arm - they get snagged all the time. If you want a strong BCD and don't mind the small hassles -go for it! If you want a BCD which allows front quick release straps, but still is super strong - check out the MARES VECTOR 1000. This is also a good BCD and almost as tough as the classic. The V1000 has better and larger pockets.
