There is 6 evenly spaced grove on the cap. What is the special tool use to safely remove/twist the cap off the dump valve.

This is on a Scubapro GlidePlus BC.

Maybe the SA60 tool on the 4th page (Page 17) of http://www.tridentdive.com/air accessories.pdf

Trident products can usually be ordered through your LDS. Just tell them what you want.

Try lefty tighty, righty loosy. Just one more way that Scubapro keeps you from messing with THEIR gear.

It has normal threading. On my current BC - I have taken this cover off before to keep the valve clean when needed by simply griping it and unscrewing it off.

I recieved a new BC I got for Xmas and this BC just seem to be extra tight from the factory. Too tight.

rstofer - thank for the link. That tool look like it is the correct tool.

I was hoping there was a workaround to remove it. Authorized scubapro shop is 15+ miles away - not to mention they are a PITA to deal with. I think I just have to bring it to them and have quick them losen it. Shouldn't take more than 5sec with the right tool.

Ooooooh, you mean CHANNEL LOCKS?..............:).....LMAO

Unless something has changed the SA60 won't work on ScubaPro BCs. That's for the other kind that everyone else uses.

Be very careful as the ScubaPro BC's are a pain in the ass to work with. The dump valve has a washer that is tricky to install and if you really don't have to remove the hose, I'd leave it alone. Mine has not been removed in about 10 years and has operated flawlessly. Just clean and flush it often, let it dry slightly inflated.

After starring at it for about 1/2 an hour or so. I figure out a work around. It came off pretty ez.

For those of you that don't have the special tool to remove these valve for routine cleaning. Here is the work around.

Find a semi-hard flat non skid surface (I used a padded chair). This will support the bc. Next deflate the bc and lay the bc on the flat surface. Make sure the backing of the valve is on the flat surface. (If you can have someone else hold the bc down in place that will be a plus). Now put on some non-skid glove to protect your skin. Lobster glove would be the preffered choice (I just used my 2mm dive glove). I am right handed. So I use that hand to grip the cover between the thumb and index finger. This is the twisting hand. I use my free other hand to apply downward pressure on the twisting hand so it has grip. Without this pressure. My right hand alone didn't have enough grip to twist the cover off. With the two working in tandem. Ez off.
