When i got up this morning i did my normal routine of checking the various sites and boards and noticed that scubaboard was offline and was wondering what happened because by about 5 pm this afternoon i was starting to get some major withdrawls.

reason i ask is that not only was scubaboard down, but it appeared that the host for the site(scubahosting) was offline to because those servers werent responding page requests, pings or DNS lookups.

anybody know what happened ?

Dan

Ok, it was down too, but do this...

Take a screen shot of the page with all the sections on it..you know, the homepage, and then when the site is down, just pull up the picture and click on it a couple times on the different threads and wait for it to go to each thread.......

...keep waiting....

...keep waiting....

...keep waiting....

Then after awhile, go back and see if the site is up, if not then start over.

:)

i know but this place is like my caffine habit just have to have it. this site is about 1 of 20-35 i visit a day for various things (Scuba, photos, web devolpment, etc ) but i always end up spending about 4 hours plus a day on this site (go look it up based off my IP im probably right if not understating that )

to each is there own

I was on the board last night when it went down. I next tried to log onto my work web site & had the same problem. I figured it was me.
Tried a few times during the day, with no luck, but all other sites were ok. I was becoming concerned, because a favorite site of mine, a few years ago, went down & never came back.

Glad to see all is fine.

Definite withdrawal symptoms here... I missed it almost as much as I miss diving after a few days topside!

I think alot of us went through some Scubaboard withdrawal today! At least I got some stuff done today I've been putting off.

I was reminded that I have alot of friends on this board that I would lose contact with if something permanent like this did happen. I'm sure everyone here could say the same thing. So I'm going to make an effort to get email addresses, phone numbers, even personal websites from everyone I don't want to chance loosing contact with. I've been intending to do that anyway and today just proved how quick it could happen!

...Very quiet around here today. :(

...Actually, I had an Organizational Behavior exam this evening, so it did me good to get some last-minute cramming in. But maaaaan... I lost my fix.

Usually, it's first thing I do in the morning... Grab a cup of joe and check Scubaboard...

My daily ritual was completely hosed. :( I felt a little unbalanced all day long. :)

Heck, I even offered free server space on my systems just to get my fix. ;)

Now, let's make up for lost time... :D

Glad to see all is well this morning.
I had some serious withdrawls myself.

Dee, that's a great idea listing your buddies info.

I was trying the site every ten minutes or so for about 3 hours. Had major withdrawal symptoms, but was happy to find the site up and running this morning!! I missed y'all!!!

Whew, the life is back to normal at last :D

What happened I wonder?
