the zip neck seal is no different from the neck seal on my 8 year old DUI tri-lam...just it can be changed out in about 10-15 minutes, vice a day of glueing and curing.
 
I may be missing something, but so far no one has explained the difference between regular seals & the zip seals.

For example, are they latex or neoprene?

HOW are they different from a regular seal?

The one bad thing I heard about the Zip Seals was from someone (might have been this board) that said the ziplock part of it rested under her BC strap and caused irritation. She ended up switching back to a regular seal.

Actually, there was one other post saying that the person's head was perhaps on the large size and had trouble getting through the neck hole that was created by the diameter of the "Zip" portion.
