There is a thread that somewhat died about 3-4 years ago called Scuba Limericks. I'm restarting a thread to find a ScubaBoard Limerick Laureate. This can be fun. The plan is to post a limerick about someone on SB. This "contest" can last as long as the limericks keep coming, but the plan is to count the "likes" as of 23:59 on the 31st of December 2017 to name the Limerick Laureate of 2017. Obviously, the more you post the more potential likes you'll get.
There are some rules:
1. You must have the subject's name or nickname in the first line of the limerick.
2. Speaking of the subject, you must have their approval to post about them which means they get to see it first. If anyone comes up with a disapproval after posting will result in the post being deleted and the poster being disqualified.
3. Nothing mean or mean spirited should be posted.
4. It must be somewhat SCUBA related.
5. Post only one limerick per post. This simplifies voting (by request)
6. Keen observations, double entendres and poignant presentations are encouraged. HAVE FUN!
The contest will run from 06:00 UTC (Coordinated Universal Time) 11 November 2017 until 23:59 UTC December 31, 2017. A new contest will begin at the stroke of midnight UTC (6:00 pm 12/312017 US Central Time) January 1, 2018.
I will post a few to get things started. The contest doesn't start for another couple of hours. I have already cleared these with the subjects.
@MargaritaMike
@MargaritaMike of lawsuits, has a fear.
Close to his DM-card you’ll not be near.
His C-card now gives rise
To the thought “Is it wise
To dive with paranoia?” Let’s go have a beer!
And another:
There’s this diver called @MargaritaMike
Who, on the surface, is kind of hard to like.
But when down below
You soon come to know
You’re glad you didn’t tell him, “Take a hike!”
Cameron (@northernone ) has been having trouble with equalizing for the past few days. He prompted this thread so I did a few about his diving:
@northernone ’s diving is a flop.
When he goes down his ears stay on top.
He has tried his best,
But Cameron’s forced to rest
Until the air in his ears goes “pop”.
Poor @northernone can’t do any dives.
It’s difficult for him to realize.
He’s wearing a frown
Cause he can’t go down
Until he gets his ears to equalize.
@northernone goes out on the boat,
But while there he must stay afloat.
He can’t go below
For his outer ears don’t know
How to be equal with the air in his throat.
But today:
@northernone planned to dive today.
It seems his ears decided to play,
But along came a storm
That was far from the norm,
And hunkered down he did stay.
@RayfromTX
Ray from Texas as a diver is new
Although his dives number more than a few
Some may want to laugh
At the fact that he’s SB Staff,
But his comments are rarely askew.
And finally @The Chairman :
There is Pete, known as @The Chairman
Who on ScubaBoard tries to be fair.
His comments when landed
Are all even-handed
He must be on Nitrox, not just on air.
Remember - Have fun and nothing mean.
Cheers - M²

EDIT: Edited rules to have only one limerick per post.
