So was there any major impact from the recent hurricane?

No impact from the hurricanes and am staying at turquoise bay resort, subway watersports.

PCR test came back positive for me and one other of our party. No symptoms or anything. Looks like trip is off. Wife's birthday next week too, seriously not a happy camper. But at least we're all around, not everyone has been so fortunate.

Oh, man, that sucks. Really sorry to hear that.
We're scheduled for April. I have a regularly scheduled doctors appointment for the first week of February and I think I'm going to ask him about getting the test at that time just to see what it will show. And I'll hopefully get the vaccine at the same time. Of course, under current requirements, I know I'll need to get another one test just before going and anything can happen between early February and late April, but I'd rather have a precursory look that a big surprise just before we're supposed to leave.

So we've all been 'stuck' under one roof and a couple have had a day of sniffles/ high temp (100.1), but other than that we're all fine. I have had absolutely zero symptoms. That's good news in one sense because the alternatives aren't pretty. However it also seems to make it even more disappointing because you wonder if it was a false-positive and we should be down there enjoying a family dive vacation for Christmas!!
While it was only going to 'cost' me 6 days of vacation for a fortnight away (other 4 days covered by holidays), the company is letting us rollover some unused time and I get to take my 6 and must use them before Labor Day. So we will hopefully get away sometime in 2021 for an extended vacation!

What resort were you headed to? If AKR, maybe you can reschedule for the week of 4/24-5/1. There are some of us from the cancelled invasion that are supposed to be there that week. I just spoke with Bay Adventures last week (inquiring for a friend) and they do have vacancies for that week. Would love to have you join us for the unofficial mini-invasion.

No resort, we have a place in walking distance to West End/ Half Moon Bay. Thanks for the kind offer though, and if we're there at the same time we'll be sure to check in with you guys. As we still have some school aged ones and a couple in college we tend to schedule around their breaks and summer/ Christmas gives us the best overlapping weeks for them.

Man, that's cool. My wife and I are staying an extra week in May to "scope things out." We'll be in Half Moon Bay. Thinking about looking at some properties while there.
