Hello All,

I'm brand new to this and will be doing my first beach dive on August 03. I'm very nervous yet excited. First pool dive is this coming Sunday to learn the basics...can't wait.

Spica, I'm a new member here too, but an ol hand at diving. I bet you'll love it! Do you like water? I know an OW instructor that couldn't even swim when she began diving. This scuba adventure can become very infectious! Enjoy and welcome to this cool site.

dive safe,

Kal

Hi Kal,

Thanks for the welcome. I do like the water. I'm not that strong of a swimmer but can manage fine. This forum will be extremely helpful as lots of experienced folks here. I will be looking into getting a BC and regulator and I'm sure there are lots of opinions out here from these folks. Looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of reading.

Hi there,
Welcome to :sblogo:

And have FUN on sunday.:D

Where do you plan on doing this dive?

I'm in SoCal. The pool dives (next 2 Sundays) will be at the YMCA in Fullerton CA. The beach dive (aug 3) will take place in Catalina.

You are going to have sooo much fun! Catalina (Casino Dive Park) is considered a shore entry, very easy as opposed to a typical SoCal beach entry. They can be a challenge for new divers. One way or the other, have fun!

Be sure to visit the SoCal forums. Ton’s of good people and information there.
